Transcend was founded in 2022 by Steve and Jana Smith. Through their work in the community they realized that true economic growth was often being stopped by a lack of high quality broadband and digital literacy skills. 

Many individuals, students, and families in our urban and rural communities are being left behind simply because this basic utility isn’t available or they can’t afford it. 

Just like we realized the value of electricity to every home, we know our world is now digitally connected and when we don’t have the Internet we are left behind. We also know this issue is larger than any one person and we need to work together as a community to solve it.
